Steve grew up and lived in North
Dakota for most of his life. He was brought up in a small, rural
town in North Dakota, Munich, where his family farms and runs
a lumber and plumbing business. He enjoys going back to help
on the farm during spring planting and harvest. Growing up in
the flyway for migrating ducks and geese, Steve has been a very
avid water fowler, since he was old enough to hunt. Steve also
enjoys fishing, running, golf, baseball, Tae Kwon Do, and pretty
much any sport.
Steve attended the University of North Dakota where he received
a B.S. Degree in Geography. After graduation, he decided to further
his education by attending graduate school at the University
of Nebraska, receiving a Masters of Community and Regional Planning
(MCRP) in 2003.
Steve’s professional background began while attending
UND, where he worked for AgriData, Inc. as a GIS Technician for
3 years. While in graduate school, he was selected for a 1 ½-year
internship with the City of Lincoln/Lancaster County Planning
Department. Upon graduation, Steve moved back to North Dakota
where he accepted the job of City Planner for Devils Lake. Steve
is currently employed by the City of West Fargo as a Senior City
Planner where he has been for 3 ½ years.
